When asked if Mahrez or Hazard have the higher value right now, Hislop said: “Right now, Mahrez. Given how good Mahrez is, and how good he’s been, I think clubs are more likely to spend bigger on Mahrez.”
Mahrez has been one of the stars of the Premier League, and he must be favourite to win the Premier League Play of the Year award at the end of this season.
The Algerian winger has scored 15 goals and registered 11 assists in 28 league appearances, aiding Leicester’s rise to the top of the table.
His form has seen him linked with a host of Europe’s top teams, and there is a belief that it will be hard for the Foxes to hold onto him for much longer.
Mahrez’s rise has really emphasised just how poor Hazard has been this season, with the Chelsea man struggling to rise to the level he displayed last term.
He was Player of the Year last season, but is struggling to have any sort of impact upon games now, and a summer exit from Stamford Bridge seems likely.
Despite his name and reputation, Hazard hasn’t become the most desirable target for many clubs, and Mahrez is the in-demand star now.
His value has sky rocketed, and whenever Leicester do sell him, they will make a huge profit on the fee they paid for him in January 2014.
