The left-back has impressed in the Celtic first-team this season.
Gordon Strachan named his two Scotland squads for friendlies against Czech Republic and Denmark this month yesterday - and he included some fresh faces for the fixtures.
One such player was Celtic talent Kieran Tierney.
The Celtic left-back has been excellent for the Parkhead club this season and has seen Eimilio Izaguirre out of the starting left-back spot.
The 18-year-old, born in the Isle of Man, has now received the congratulations of his club manager.
“Very happy for him, a bonus for his hard work. A great player already but has a long time to develop.
“He has made his way into the team this season and done very well so I’m very happy for him."
Strachan has clearly got one eye on the future with some of his youthful picks for the upcoming fixtures and Tierney certainly has the ability to be a Scotland left-back for many years to come.
He has had a breakthrough season at the club this term. Tierney has featured in 23 games for the Bhoys this season. Meanwhile keeping out club stalwart Emilio Izaguirre is no mean feat.
Hopefully this is just the first of many call-ups to the international scene for the Celtic teenager.
