Peter Odemwingie has used social media to say thank you to the supporters of Stoke City after he departed the club on Friday.
Championship club Bristol City have signed the striker on a loan deal until the end of the season after Odemwingie fell down the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium.
The Nigerian has spent most of the campaign either injured or out of the side, and Mark Hughes said once the transfer was completed that the 34-year-old would not be offered a new deal in the summer.
However, despite his Potters career coming to an end, Odemwingie has used Twitter to show his gratitude towards the fans.
Thanks for the tweets Potters. I left but I am still with you. ❤️— Peter Odemwingie (@OdemwingieP) March 11, 2016
Odemwingie has been with Stoke since January 2014, when he was involved in a swap deal with Kenwyne Jones, but it is a transfer that has not worked out for either striker.
While Jones has only scored 19 times in 67 appearances for Cardiff City, with most of those games coming in the second tier, Odemwingie has scored just five times in 31 outings in all competitions for Stoke.
Odemwingie is expected to make his debut for Bristol City against Fulham on Saturday.
