The Austrian is hoping to get the better of Dortmund tonight.
Spurs will be able to call upon a player tonight who has faced Dortmund before.
Kevin Wimmer signed for Spurs from Bundesliga side FC Koln in the summer. He played against Dortmund once during his time in German football, in a 2-1 win.
The Austrian international has been speaking about the upcoming tie this week and has discussed what is different between English and German football.
London24 quote Wimmer as claiming the intensity of English football is far bigger than that in Germany:
“I played for a year in the Bundesliga but the intensity in England is amazing, much higher than in Germany and it is more attractive for me to play in England.
“It’s always nice feeling to come back to Germany. I’ve been looking forward to this game. Every player was happy when we saw the draw. Dortmund are a very good team but this is a good opportunity to show our quality.”
Spurs in particular play a very intense style. They press high up the pitch and attack with pace - it is a similar style to the one Thomas Tuchel adopts at Dortmund.
Wimmer will be coming up against some names he knows well from his time in Germany. He has been in fantastic form since stepping in for the injured Jan Vertonghen and will look to continue his good form in this massive European clash.
But seeing how well he has coped in the Premier League hope is high he will thrive facing German opposition once again.
