Southampton have entered the race to sign Reading forward Hal Robson-Kanu on a free transfer at the end of the season, HITC Sport understands.
Robson-Kanu, 26, is in impressive form, scoring three goals and providing one assist in his last three games for the Royals.
This evening he is expected to be involved as Reading take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, hoping to get to the semi-finals at Wembley for a second consecutive season.
Robson-Kanu's contract expires in June, and HITC Sport sources close to the situation understand the Saints hold a strong interest in the attacker, who can play on the wing or up front.
They are not the only club interested in Robson-Kanu, with The Mirror reporting Swansea City are keen on his services, with Aston Villa having an offer for him turned down last summer.
Robson-Kanu has played in the Premier League previously with Reading, and the Royals have not given up on convincing him to renew his deal, with manager Brian McDermott telling GetReading he was hopeful a new contract can be agreed.
He is set for a major role in the summer with Wales at Euro 2016 after being an important figure in their qualification for the tournament, and big performances in France will make it more difficult for Reading to keep him.
