The ex-Villa striker is bemused by the off-the-field events at the Birmingham club.
Stan Collywood has reacted on Twitter after details of Aston Villa chief executive Tom Fox's salary were released.
The Villans are rock bottom of the Premier League table after winning just three of their 29 games thus far, with relegation looking increasingly likely as Remi Garde's side sit nine points from safety at the moment.
The Birmingham side are hardly thriving off the field either after posting pre-tax losses of £27 million to the year ending May 31, 2015.
Yet, Fox is earning in the region £1.25 million per year - roughly 400% more than his predecessor Paul Faulkner, who earned £265,000 in 2014 - and former Villa striker Collymore slams the 'false narrative' occurring at the West Midlands club.

Wages up £14m
Tom Fox pay up £990k
False narrative, priceless.
Furthermore, Fox, who was the chief commercial officer for Arsenal from 2009 until 2014, is the sixth highest paid Premier League CEO, beaten only by his equivalents at Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
On the field, it gets no easier for Villa, who host Premier League title-chasing Spurs on Sunday.
