Manager Roberto Martinez insists that Everton’s performances this season prove that the club’s players are united behind him, on the club's official Youtube channel.
There were suggestions that Everton’s squad wanted Martinez to show more willingness to play defensively, with his tactics coming into question.
However, the Spanish boss insists that the Toffees’ consistent performances this term prove that the players believe in his philosophy.
“I think you need to look at the overall season we’ve had,” Martinez said, when asked whether Everton’s players were united behind him.
“You’ve got a long period competing this campaign and we have been very consistent away. The home form, in terms of the defeat we’ve had in the league, we have been in every game apart from one. The consistency has been there.
“The squad has always reacted with bravery and responsibility.”
Martinez’s job has come under serious pressure, after Everton threw away a 2-0 lead against West Ham United in their last fixture at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have been guilty of letting leads slip on numerous occasions this term, and they have not progressed as hoped.
Everton have assembled one of the most talented squads in the Premier League, but they currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table.
