Leicester will take on the Magpies at home in the Premier League on Monday evening.
Former Newcastle striker Owen has backed the Foxes to pick up all three points from the encounter at the King Power Stadium.
“Newcastle appear to be in a lot of bother at the moment,” the former England international wrote on Colossusbets.com. “Their away form is horrendous, the 3-1 home loss to Bournemouth last weekend was a morale-crusher and, who knows, perhaps they may even have a new manager by the time of their Monday night game at Leicester.
“If they do, then it may give them a short-term lift, but I have to side with table-topping Leicester, who won 3-0 at St James’ Park earlier in the season. I take the Foxes to win 2-1, and move closer to that scarcely-believable title success.”
Newcastle are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Magpies’ performances and results have been disappointing, while Leicester are now favourites to win the league title.
The Foxes are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and they will be favourites to win against Newcastle next week
Claudio Ranieri’s side, though, cannot get complacent, as Newcastle do have some good players who can step up their game.
If Leicester score the first goal, though, then the home team will wrap up the three points with ease.
