Michael Owen names the 34-year-old striker perfect for Arsenal

Michael Owen suggests that Arsenal should move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer transfer window.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen said on BT Sport Europe on Tuesday night (March 8) that Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be a good signing for Arsenal.

Owen made the comments following BT Sport Europe coverage of the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie between Real Madrid and AS Roma at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“I think that’s the perfect fit,” said the former Newcastle United striker when asked about Ibrahimovic and Arsenal.

“I think the fans will demand it. I think they are wanting a massive name centre-forward.”

Ibrahimovic has been on the books of PSG since 2012 and has a contract until the end of the season.

It looks likely that the Sweden international will leave the Ligue 1 giants in the summer, and perhaps Arsenal should make a move for him.

The 34-year-old striker is one of the best players in the world and has actually become better with age.

Ibrahimovic has scored 23 goals and created 31 chances in 23 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG so far this season.

The former Inter Milan and AC Milan star has scored four goals and created 11 chances in eight Champions League matches for the French club this campaign.
