Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League later this evening.
Spurs have left Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Eric Dier at home for their match in Germany tonight, with Pochettino keen to avoid fatiguing his players.
The Lilywhites’ squad have had a demanding schedule this term, and Pochettino admits that his side’s fixture list is gruelling currently.
"We are in a period that is tough for the players," he said. "We need to refresh the team. We need to rotate. “Ever since the start of the season I’ve said that the important thing is to have a squad.”
Alli has been left at home as he is suspended, while Rose is nursing a hamstring problem.
Dier, on the other hand, has simply been rested due to the large volume of matches he has played recently.
Spurs are still expected to announce a strong line-up tonight, as they have taken the Europa League seriously all season.
Pochettino has made being successful in Europe one of his priorities, and if Spurs are to avoid defeat tonight they will put themselves in a commanding position ahead of the second leg.
