Hull City were beaten 4-0 by Arsenal in the FA Cup yesterday evening.
The Gunners triumphed 4-0 at the KC Stadium, but the scoreline did not reflect the competitiveness of the match.
Hull actually gave Arsenal a scare in the first half, but they allowed their Premier League opponents to grab a stranglehold on the match, when David Meyler’s error was pounced on by Olivier Giroud.
After Arsenal took the lead, Hull had to show more attacking ambition, and they were made to pay by Arsene Wenger’s side.
Giroud added Arsenal’s second, before Theo Walcott scored twice late on to complete the triumph.
Hull’s performance was still a credible one, but Davies and Huddlestone could not hide their disappointment on social media.
Disappointing nigh. Arsenal were very clinical in front of goal, too many mistakes against a good team. Full focus on the league now— Tom Huddlestone (@Huddz8) March 8, 2016
Hardly a 4-0 tonight but that's what Arsenal can do, punish any mistake. Wasn't meant to be but only one target now, let's go up #HCAFC— Curtis Davies #6 (@TheCurtisDavies) March 8, 2016
Hull’s squad’s attention will now return to their Championship campaign, as they look to get promoted.
The Tigers are currently in fourth place, but they have games in hand over all their promotion rivals due to their lengthy FA Cup run.
