The Rotherham United boss believes that Middlesbrough have the best team in the division, but he has praised the organisation of Burnley and Hull.
Burnley and Middlesbrough currently occupy the top two spots in the Championship, but Warnock believes that Hull may catch Aitor Karanka’s side before May.
“I think Middlesbrough are the best side,” Warnock said. “But I think Hull and Burnley are so organised, Burnley in particular. We lost 1-0 there to a stupid penalty, and after 80 minutes we had a great chance to equalise but we didn’t. They can see games out. I’ve got a lot of time for Sean Dyche.
“I think Middlesbrough have the best team to look at, but I think Andre Gray just gives Burnley that little bit and when Hull are flying it’s hard to see who is going to pip those two.”
Burnley have built up a four point lead at the top of the Championship table, after a wonderful run of form recently.
The Clarets have pushed on in the second half of the season, and they now look the favourites to win the division.
Middlesbrough are their nearest challengers, but the North East side have won just three of their last 10 matches.
Hull, meanwhile, are three points away from the top two as things stand, but they do have games in hand over their promotion rivals.
Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are also in the play-off spaces, but Warnock doesn't feel any of the trio have a chance of making a late run for the automatic promotion spots.
