Aston Villa are lining up a summer move for Vasilios Barkas, the Birmingham Mail reports.
Villa are looking at a number of goalkeepers to bring to the club in the summer, with it clear that neither Brad Guzan nor Mark Bunn are good enough.
Lovre Kalinic agreed a deal with Villa in the January transfer window, but a move collapsed as he was not rewarded a work permit.
The Midlands team failed to sign a keeper, and the management are looking at various other targets ahead of the summer window.
Barkas is one of those targets, with Villa said to be lining up a move for the 21-year-old Greek stopper.
The Under-21 international currently plays for Artomitos Athens of the Super League, with whom he made his debut last season after progressing through their youth system.
This year, the youngster has grown in prominence, starting the season on the bench before being promoted to the starting XI in January.
He has started each of the last seven games, conceding eight goals and keeping three clean sheets, with Villa scouts present to watch him.
The club first noticed him in an Under-21 international, and have clearly seen enough to want to bring him to Villa Park ahead of next season.
