Queens Park Rangers beat Derby County 2-0 at Loftus Road yesterday.
QPR beat promotion chasing Derby 2-0 at Loftus Road yesterday and their performance was highly accomplished.
Rangers were rarely threatened throughout the contest as they dominated against Darren Wassall’s men, but Hasselbaink still believes that his side has improvements to make.
"I thought we had an extra gear tonight," Hasselbaink said. “We always looked like we could go further if we needed to.
“Saturday (against MK Dons) was not acceptable and we all accepted that.
“We had to put it right for each other, for the group, for the fans of the club – and we did that in a very professional way.
“The second goal was the very least we deserved. We could’ve scored more goals on the night.”
QPR’s win over Derby was their second impressive result in succession at home.
The R’s also beat Birmingham City 2-0 recently, but there is still work to be done if they are to get back on track this season.
QPR have been inconsistent under Hasselbaink’s stewardship so far, and their 2-0 defeat away to Milton Keynes Dons last weekend highlighted some of their deficiencies.
Rangers are currently in 11th place in the Championship table, and only a wonderful run of form between now and the end of the season would see them climb into play-off contention before time runs out for another year.
