Everton should make a move for German under-21 international Bernd Leno this summer

The talented Bayer Leverkusen star could be up for sale.

Everton are set to receive something of a financial boost for the summer and will likely be attempting to make changes in the first-team squad.

One position that needs to be looked at is the goalkeeper area. Tim Howard has been poor this season and has now lost his place in the Everton team to Joel Robles.

As talented as the Spaniard is another option will need to be brought in if Everton are to push on into England's elite.

One potential option they must consider is Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Bild reported today that the German talent could be up for sale this summer - if Bayer fail to qualify for Europe this season.

The 24-year-old stopper is a Germany under-21 international and is considered one of the best young goalies in world football. He was recently called up to the German national team for the first time but finds himself behind the likes of Marc-Andre ter Stegen and the world's best in Manuel Neuer in the pecking order.

But there is little doubt that Everton could improve his financial packet that he current has at the BayArena and Leno would be a fantastic signing for the club.

If Leverkusen do indeed end up cashing in on their main talents, Everton should be lurking for Leno.
