Angelo Ogbonna discloses the secret to West Ham’s success

West Ham have been enjoying a successful season under Slaven Bilic.

Speaking to the official West Ham website, Angelo Ogbonna has explained the secret to the success of the Hammers team this season.

When asked whether teammate Dimitri Payet is the best player he has ever seen, Ogbonna said: “He has a lot of quality but the secret of this team is the group and we have a very good mix of players. We have many players who can do everything and show different sides to their game. When we have to fight they will go and win the ball. We are a very good team and have players like Lanzini, Sakho, Kouyate and Noble who can all make a difference.”

The Hammers currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League, and in in the quarter finals of the FA Cup - in which they play Manchester United this weekend.

They are in with a great chance of qualifying for European football ahead of next season, and if their form continues at its current level for the rest of the campaign, the Hammers could be in the Champions League.

Slaven Bilic has built a truly top class team, who are all pulling in the same direction under an exceptional manager, and finishing in the top four would appear to be a real possibility.

Many people will put this success down to Dimitri Payet, who was signed in the summer from Marseille.

The Frenchman has been excellent this season, but singling him out denies the rightful praise to a number of other players who have been important to the club.

Ogbonna is one of the those players, as well as the four stars he names, but the entire squad have all played their part in what has been an excellent season for all involved at the Boleyn Ground.
