Report: Southampton striker Graziano Pelle rejected lucrative Chinese move, wants to go home to Italy

The Italian international has his heart set on a move to AC Milan, according to reports.

Southampton striker Graziano Pelle is said to be looking for an exit from the South-Coast club.

The Italian international is believed to be keen on a move to AC Milan, according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that the player is homesick and that has been negatively affecting his performances. It is also claimed that he turned down a recent lucrative offer to go and play in the Chinese Super League - seemingly due to his desire to play in Italy.

Pelle has not played in his homeland since leaving Parma for Feyenoord in 2012 and also spent four years in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar earlier in his career - so his sudden homesickness would shock some.

But he turns 31 in the summer and is perhaps pining for home in the latter stages of his career - with Milan an excellent destination.

Pelle has been out of form for Southampton and has not scored since November, after previously netting 16 goals in his first season in English football.

Now it seems as though Southampton, who signed Charlie Austin in January, will be willing to send him on his way if that is his wish.
