Report claims West Ham could link up with Shamrock Rovers

West Ham United could be set for a big few years both on and off the pitch.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham United are exploring the possibility of linking up with Irish side Shamrock Rovers.

The Hammers are flying high in the Premier League this season and find themselves fifth with just nine matches remaining, and this could be just the start with manager Slaven Bilic likely to further strengthen his squad next summer as they prepare to move to their new stadium.

So what could West Ham seek to gain from a partnership with the Irish league side?

According to the Mail, the Hammers would loan players to Shamrock and also use their link to potentially speed up work permit applications for any new additions that require one.

Other Premier League clubs have similar agreements in place and it will be interesting to see how this one goes with West Ham on the verge of becoming a dominant force in English football once more.

Bilic’s side are currently just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City and while he has seemingly ruled out Champions League qualification it is certainly an option if West Ham continue their fine form.
