Supporters of Queens Park Rangers indicate on Twitter that they are encouraged by their side's 2-0 victory over Derby County.

Supporters of Queens Park Rangers could not hide their optimism after witnessing their team record a 2-0 victory over Derby County in the Championship on Tuesday night.

The Hoops went into the fixture having suffered defeat to MK Dons last weekend, but there was to be no negativity after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side recorded their second successive home win over a promotion contender - the other being Birmingham City on February 27.

Tjarron Chery gave QPR the advantage in the first half, before Gabriele Angella ensured that there would be no nerves in the closing stages by adding a second four minutes from time.

Fans of the Londoners also reserved special praise for veteran Clint Hill, who was making his first appearance since the FA Cup loss to Nottingham Forest on January 9.

The result sees QPR occupy 11th position in the standings with 10 games remaining.

They still sit as many as 10 points adrift of the playoff places but Hasselbaink will be hoping to close the gap on the teams above them with three points against Brentford on Saturday.
