The Gunners are currently third behind Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners were expected to be title challengers this season, after a strong finish to last season saw them end the campaign as one of Europe’s top sides.
They have done that as well, competing at the top half of the table for the majority of the campaign.
However, recent weeks have seen them stumble and Wenger come in for criticism, with many putting the blame firmly at the Frenchman’s feet.
Davids though, says that winning the title could cause more problems for the long serving manager than failing to do so.
“I think he will have a bigger problem if he wins the league,” he told Fletch and Sav.
“If you win the league, then next year you have to spend £200million, and then the year after you have to spend £200million.”
“That’s when the problems start; you can’t not spend if you win the league.”
Davids point is certainly an interesting one given the mounting pressure around Wenger in recent weeks.
However, not winning the league is likely to cause more problems than doing so, especially given the opportunity this season.
With the likes of Chelsea dropping away, and Manchester City and Manchester United inconsistent, this year should have been Arsenal’s best shot at winning the title in a number of years.
Instead they have struggled to break away and prove themselves as clear title favourites, a major problem for many Arsenal fans.
