The Italian was in fantastic form tonight.
Leeds United picked up a second successive win this evening, following on from their victory against Bolton Wanderers with a 2-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Goals from Souleymane Doukara and Mirco Antenucci secured all three points for Leeds who in the end deserved the win.
Cardiff, who had Fabio Da Silva sent off, were however unfortunate.
They had plenty of chances against Leeds but they found Italian goalkeeper Marco Silvestri in one of those moods.
He was sensational throughout the game - making save after save and also looking strong in the air and in his handling.
He often gets criticised for his inept performances at Leeds - with silly errors dominating his game.
But when he is in good form he can be unbeatable - as former striker Noel Whelan appreciated on BBC Leeds during the game:
"We know when Silvestri is called upon, he can do it. His shot stopping is some of the best.
"My question is: is he strong enough to command his area? He's shown that tonight with a good, strong hand when he has people around him.
"They've come here, frustrated them for 90 minutes - yes they've rode their luck but they've had a top quality goalkeeper. Some of the saves he made tonight were unreal."
Whelan is often a critic of Silvestri's but he could not help but be impressed with the fantastic performance of the divisive goalie.
If he can continue to play like this throughout the rest of the season, teams will find it hard to put goals past Leeds.
