West Ham United winger Michail Antonio spoke highly of Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (March 6).
"He is quality, and this season he's been a joke at times,” Antonio said about Leicester winger Mahrez. “Me and some of the boys in the dressing room were talking about him recently because in the Championship he didn't play much.
"It was Anthony Knockaert who was the main man when they got promoted. But he's come to the Premier League and he's tearing it to pieces.”
Mahrez has been one of the best players in the Premier League so far this season, maybe even the best.
The Algeria international winger is arguably Leicester’s best player and has been instrumental to their charge towards to the league title this campaign.
The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals and created 45 chances in 28 Premier League matches so far this term.
Mahrez has a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 63%, and has won 23 headers, 90 dribbles and 27 tackles.
Antonio, who joined West Ham from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015, has also been in good form this season.
The 25-year-old winger has scored six goals and created 12 chances in 17 Premier League matches.
The Englishman has a pass accuracy of 65% and a shot accuracy of 42%, and has won 27 headers, 27 dribbles and 15 tackles.
