Kevin Lock says this West Ham player is certainly underrated

Kevin Lock speaks highly of West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate.

Kevin Lock has written on West Ham United’s official website that Cheikhou Kouyate is underrated.

Kouyate, who can play as a midfielder or as a defender, has been on the books of the Hammers since the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2018.

Former West Ham defender Lock has praised the Senegal international and has claimed that he is underrated.

“One player who I really like is Cheikhou Kouyate – I think he is one of the best and most valuable members of the team, and he is certainly underrated for me,” Lock wrote on West Ham’s official website. “He is strong, gets to the ball quickly and uses it well.”

Kouyate has scored four goals and created 17 chances 25 Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this season.

The midfielder has a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 52%, and has won 61 headers, 21 dribbles and 55 tackles.

During the 2014-15 campaign, the West Ham man scored four goals and created 14 chances in 31 league matches.

Kouyate had a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 48%, and won 97 headers, 21 dribbles and 57 tackles.

West Ham are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 49 points from 29 matches, just a point behind Manchester City, who are currently fourth in the standings and have a game in hand.
