Payet joined West Ham from French club Marseille in the summer of 2015 and has been a massive hit among the fans.
The attacking midfielder is one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment and is also one of the most creative players in the English top flight.
The 28-year-old France international has scored eight goals and created 79 chances in 22 league matches so far this season.
Payet has a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 65%, and has won two headers, 55 dribbles and 13 tackles.
Former West Ham star Cole has admitted that he did not expect the Frenchman to make such as a massive impact in his first season in the Premier League.
“I knew he would be a great player, but I thought it might take him six months, seven, eight months to settle down, but straightaway he has hit the ground running,” Cole told talkSPORT when asked if he has been surprised that Payet has settled so quickly.
West Ham will return to action on Sunday evening when they take on Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Slaven Bilic’s side will then face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League.
