The Owls are currently sixth in the Championship, but have plenty of sides right on their tail.
Carlos Carvalhal's men currently occupy the final play-off spot in the Championship, but are without a win in their last four games. Nevertheless, the defender - who is on loan from Aston Villa - insisted that the Owls are still confident of maintaining their place in the top six.
"I think we have got a really good chance," he told the Star. "The team are doing well at the moment and playing some good football.
"We are scoring goals and we can definitely make the play-offs. It is really tight at the top and anything can happen.
"It's in our hands so we have just got to keep picking up points."
Although the tough prospect of facing Brighton on Tuesday means that Carvalhal's men will have to do extremely well to prevent their winless run being extended to five games - especially as they are yet to beat any of the teams above them in the table - they can feel optimistic that they will have plenty of opportunities to get back to winning ways in the coming weeks.
After facing the Seagulls, only one of Wednesday's remaining 10 games pits them against one of the top five in the division, which will surely give the side all the confidence they need to pick up the points that will keep them above the likes of Cardiff, Birmingham and Ipswich, who are all within touching distance of the coveted play-off spots.
