Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s team is currently 12th in the league with 44 points from 35 matches while the Rams are fifth with 60 points, with a healthy advantage over the teams just below the play-off places.
A win for Derby this evening could lift them to within one point of Brighton & Hove Albion while QPR could leapfrog Reading and move to within two points of 10th-placed Preston North End if they come out victorious.
That said Rangers have a poor recent record against Derby, winning only one of their last 11 home league games against tonight’s opponents.
The Rams have got back to winning ways recently and will be looking to maintain that run against a side that is still struggling to find consistency since Hasselbaink took charge.
This one could go either way but Derby will go all out for the win in their bid to further solidify their place in the top six.
