Charlie Nicholas has predicted on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday that Everton are likely to sell three first-team players in the summer.
With Farhad Moshiri becoming the Toffees’ new majority shareholder, the Merseyside club are expected to invest heavily in their playing squad.
There is an anticipation that Everton could target big name players in the summer transfer window.
However, Nicholas believes that Roberto Martinez could be intending to have a clear-out, to make room for new additions, and he feels that Kevin Mirallas will be one of the players to depart Goodison Park.
"I would think there would be two or three players who will go out," Nicholas said. "I don’t think Mirallas has made a big an impact as a player of his ability should have this season, so I think they’ll be chopping and changing a bit.|
Mirallas has generally been utilised as a covering option so far this season, with the Belgian unable to secure his place in the team.
The form of the likes of Aaron Lennon, Gerard Deulofeu and Arouna Kone has blocked Mirallas’ route to the starting line-up, and meant that he has not featured particularly regularly.
Mirallas has made just 11 Premier League starts to date this term, and his future now hangs in the balance - with West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur both credited with an interest in the skilful winger earlier in the campaign (Daily Mirror).
