Aston Villa's under-21 side drew 1-1 away to Brighton and Hove Albion last night, and showed a fighting spirit the first team could do with.
Jerell Sellars scored the goal which saw them come from behind to claim a draw, while teammate Andre Green was one of the stars of the show.
Green was named on the first team bench by Tim Sherwood last May, and signed a professional deal back in November.
The 17-year-old is a bright talent and does not look out of depth with the under-21s, in fact he looks like he may even be worth a little run in the first team.
Green commented on Twitter after the game to express his satisfaction at the draw, suggesting perhaps if they were luckier they could have gone onto win the game.
1-1 draw, maybe could of won it at the end but stuck together to get the draw #avfc— André Green (@AndreGreen_30) March 7, 2016
Green, and England under-17 international, is one of the brighter talents in Villa's youth ranks, and with relegation from the Premier League nearly certain, it will soon be time to consider blooding some of the younger players into the first team, if not now, then when relegation is inevitably confirmed.
The current senior players have had their chances to impress, and this would give the younger players time to impress and make an impression in a competitive game as Villa try to establish whether any of them can become regulars in the Championship next season.
Here is a look at how supporters reacted on Twitter to Andre Green's performance...
