Burnley currently lead the way in the Championship table, with Middlesbrough and Hull hot on their heels.
The likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday are all trying to catch the trio, but Curbishley doesn’t believe they will be able to.
“I think it’s the top three,” the former West Ham United manager said. “I can’t tell you who the two automatic teams will be, but I think the top three will go up. Whoever isn’t in the top two out of those three, will win the play offs. They are the three best teams.”
Burnley have gone under the radar for much of the campaign so far, but a strong run of form recently has elevated them to the top of the table.
Sean Dyche’s side currently hold a one point advantage over Boro, who are in second place.
Aitor Karanka’s side are still the bookies’ favourites to win the Championship, as they have a game in hand over Burnley.
Hull are also in the thick of the race, although they could slip further behind their rivals tonight.
Hull are in action in the FA Cup against Arsenal, while Burnley and Boro both play Championship matches later this evening.
