Sheffield Wednesday's Sam Hutchinson admits he'd love to play Premier League football

Sheffield Wednesday are currently in sixth place in the Championship table.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson has told the Sun that he is dreaming of achieving promotion this season.

Hutchison was with Chelsea throughout his formative years, but he was forced to quit the London club at the age of 21 after suffering with fitness problems.

It was expected that the midfielder would never play football again, but Wednesday managed to coax him out of retirement and he has not looked back since.

Hutchinson has played a crucial for Wednesday this season, and the utility man is now hoping to cap off the season in style.

“I’d love to play in the Premier League week in and week out,” he said. “But if it didn’t happen, it’s not the end of the world. We’ll still enjoy next year and we’ll go again.”

Wednesday have made vast strides to climb into promotion contention this season, and they appear to have a real chance of finishing in the play off spots.

The Owls have been in fine form since September and they currently sit in sixth spot in the Championship table.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side have proven very hard to beat, although they have hit a blip recently.

Wednesday have failed to win any of their last four matches as many of their promotion rivals have closed the gap on them.

Wednesday’s next match comes against high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX tomorrow.
