Sack race outside Newcastle: Odds shift for Garde, Pardew and West Brom

Steve McClaren

Newcastle's Steve McClaren is naturally the favourite for the sack but Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and West Brom's managers have seen their odds change.

Steve McClaren's fate at Newcastle United is almost sealed, with the head coach 1/6 to be the next Premier League manager to leave, according to Sky Bet.

However, the shortening of odds at Newcastle have prompted shifts across the Premier League. Aston Villa boss Remi Garde, for instance, is now 10/1 to leave next, while Norwich City's Alex Neil is 12/1.

Garde may yet leave Aston Villa in the next few months but it could be at the end of the season, whether he is sacked or he leaves the post of his own accord.

Meanwhile, Sky Bet price Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew at 12/1 to leave, alongside Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. Both face pressure but don't look like they are going anywhere as quick as Newcastle boss McClaren.

Tony Pulis looks the safest of the under-pressure managers. The West Brom boss beat Manchester United 1-0 on Sunday afternoon and may not be under any pressure at all anymore with the Baggies.

Pulis is 20/1 to leave West Brom, making him far less likely to leave than the Magpies, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace bosses.

It makes sense, of course, considering West Brom's Premier League safety - but could there still be plenty of changes across several clubs this summer?
