According to a report in The Sun, Chelsea are keen on bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Lukaku left Chelsea to join Everton back in 2014 for £28 million, and the London club realise that they will have to pay far more than that fee if they are to sign him back.
The Toffees are reportedly demanding £56 million for the 22-year-old, as they do not want to lose their main striker.
Lukaku has flourished this term, and scored 18 goals in his last 28 Premier League matches.
With Diego Costa now the only proven striker in Chelsea’s squad, the current Premier League champions are apparently keen to bring in another front man at the next available opportunity.
Technical director Michael Emenalo is said to be urging Chelsea to bring Lukaku back to the club, as he sees the Belgian international as a good fit.
Everton do not want to sell the youngster, though, and having recently received new investment they are under no pressure to raise funds.
Indeed, according to the Guardian, Lukaku will be offered a new long-term contract at Goodison Park in the near future.
