West Ham will offer £20 million for Michy Batshuayi this summer, the Standard reports.
The Hammers are going all out to bring the forward to the Olympic Stadium for next season, with Slaven Bilic wanting the 22-year-old as a marquee signing ahead of the prosperous new era West Ham hope to enjoy.
They are pushing to qualify for European football, and Bilic wants Batshuayi as a player who can guarantee continental competition every season, rather than it being just a one off for the East London club.
Batshuayi is considered one of the brightest prospects in European football, with the twice-capped Belgian international establishing himself as a top class goalscorer in France’s Ligue 1.
Since moving to Marseille from Standard Liege in the summer of 2014, the youngster has managed 22 goals in 53 Ligue 1 fixtures, netting 28 goals in total for L’OM.
A move to a bigger club is expected this summer, and whilst a host of Europe’s top clubs are said to be keen on him, the Hammers believe they have an advantage in the race for the striker.
Dimitri Payet is friends with Batshuayi, and he is hoping to convince the striker to move to the Hammers, with the club ready to splash £20 million on him.
Slaven Bilic has been promised £20 million to sign a new striker this summer, and he is set to use it all on Batshuayi, making it clear that he is prioritising signing the young forward this summer.
