Report: Aston Villa want Steve Bruce to replace Remi Garde

Aston Villa look set to be relegated from the Premier League this season, while Hull City could be promoted from the Championship.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa have lined up Hull City boss Steve Bruce as a potential replacement for Remi Garde at the end of the season.

Garde is apparently set to leave Villa at the end of the campaign, with the Midlands side looking destined to be relegated from the Premier League.

The Claret and Blues are currently nine points adrift of safety and they have won just three matches all season.

With just 10 games left to play, Garde’s side look doomed and they will apparently turn to experience as they look to bounce back from their seemingly impending relegation.

It is widely expected that Villa will need to do a lot of rebuilding if they are to bounce straight back to the Premier League.

Bruce certainly has a vast amount of experience, and he is reportedly near the top of Villa’s list of managerial targets as they prepare for life in the second tier.

Bruce has already guided Hull and Birmingham City to promotion from the Championship during his managerial career to date.

Persuading Bruce to leave Hull could be a tough task, however, as the Tigers look like one of the leading contenders for promotion this season.
