Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told Sky Sports News, broadcast on March 7 at 10.15am, that Alexis Sanchez must build on the goal that he scored in the North London derby.
Heading into the fixture at White Hart Lane, Sanchez had only scored three goals in all competitions since October 17, and there had been calls for the Chilean international to be dropped to the bench after several ineffective performances since his return from injury.
However, with the Gunners trailing 2-1 and down to 10 men after the dismissal of Francis Coquelin, Sanchez took advantage of being played in behind the Spurs defence to hit a shot across Hugo Lloris and into the bottom corner.
The strike secured his side a morale-boosting 2-2 draw against their arch rivals, and Parlour has called on the 27-year-old to make a similar impact in the club's upcoming games.
Parlour said: "He has to build on the goal. He hasn't been the same player since his injury but sometimes players take a little bit longer to get back to form.
"He hasn't been the same player, but this might give him a lot of confidence. If Arsenal are going to have a good run, he must be on form and they must score goals from the midfield area.
"He is a very important player and this might give him a lift going into the last nine games."
With key Premier League and Champions League matches scheduled for the rest of the month, Sanchez could be rested or drop down to the substitutes' bench for the FA Cup replay with Hull City on Tuesday night.
