The Everton player received two quick-fire yellow cards.
Everton once again threw away a winning position at the weekend - a feeling Evertonians have become used to this term. The Toffees were 2-0 up with ten men against West Ham after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Aaron Lennon.
Lukaku then missed a penalty before West Ham's stunning comeback.
The majority of the blame for the result could easily be laid at the door of Kevin Mirallas. The Belgian picked up a moronic second yellow card in the early stages of the game to give Everton an uphill challenge for the rest of the game.
But one man who didn't blame him was BBC pundit and former Manchester City defender Danny Mills.
He had this to say about the red card on the BBC:
"It's silly. It's late but it's not outrageous. yes, it was a booking, a second yellow card but it's unlucky. If you've been booked once, you should be more careful."
Mirallas' first yellow card was perhaps harsh, considering the timing of the game. However there is no doubt that the Belgian did take a tumble without contact from Cheikhou Kouyate and deserved a yellow. His second, for a reckless lunge on Aaron Cresswell was classic Mirallas.
The fact is the mercurial forward often has a moment like this in him and whilst Everton coped well with 10 men they still lost the game. With 11 it might have been a different story.
