The West Ham United winger does not want to see Newcastle United get relegated to the Championship.

West Ham United winger Michail Antonio said on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (March 6) that he wants Newcastle United to retain their Premier League status for next season.

Antonio, who joined West Ham from Championship side Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015, has also explained why he does not want Newcastle to get relegated.

The winger said on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (March 6: “I am kind of hoping they (Newcastle) stay up because it is such as a massive club, but the way they are performing right now, it’s looking…”

Newcastle are one of the biggest clubs in England and regularly attract around 50,000 to their home games at St. James’ Park.

The Magpies, though, are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.

The performances of Steve McClaren’s side this campaign have been disappointing, and they just cannot win matches at the moment.

There is still a chance that Newcastle could stave off relegation, but for that to happen, results need to improve dramatically.

The Magpies will return to action next Monday when they take on Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.
