Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham are the side Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool must emulate.
Carragher said: "So much about them impresses me. If I were a manager, I would want my team to play the way Pochettino’s team does.
"They are powerful and relentless, with a great balance between defence and attack. It is what Jurgen Klopp is striving for at Liverpool."
Liverpool will be able to see just how close they are to Tottenham next month when they host Spurs at Anfield, a fixture they won 3-2 last season thanks to a late Mario Balotelli penalty.
The Reds have picked up over the last two games with important wins over Manchester City and Crystal Palace, and are seventh in the league, 11 points below Tottenham.
The though of Liverpool wanting to emulate Spurs was unthinkable a couple of seasons back, but since selling Luis Suarez the Reds have been rebuilding in a similar way Spurs have since letting Gareth Bale leave for Real Madrid.
It is now all clicking for Tottenham, and with more time, Liverpool can hope for a title push of their own in future seasons under Jurgen Klopp.
