Kane found the back of the net in spectacular fashion during the second half, to put Spurs into the lead in the match.
The 22-year-old forward collected the ball from Dele Alli, before cutting inside and curling a shot, from a tight angle, into the top corner.
Although the goal wasn’t enough to provide Spurs with the three points against their North London rivals, Hoddle has praised the England international forward’s strength of character.
"What a sublime finish from Harry Kane in the 62nd minute,” he said. “It really was quite exquisite. From that angle, to be able to beat an international keeper is extraordinary.
"He hasn’t been in the best goal-scoring form but with Harry it doesn’t seemed to worry him and he’s still willing to take on a chance like that. It hit the inside of the post and went in, so he couldn’t have hit it any further away from the keeper. Quite superb."
Tottenham had fallen behind against Arsenal when Aaron Ramsey flicked in a shot during the first half.
However, the game changed when Francis Coquelin was sent off - and Spurs quickly made their numerical advantage pay.
The Lilywhites scored an equaliser when Toby Alderweireld finished well, before Kane scored his screamer.
At that stage it appeared Spurs would go on to pick up the victory, but there was a sting in the tail, as Alexis Sanchez fired in an equaliser to ensure that the points were shared.
