Gary Gardner and Cyrus Christie react on Twitter to Stephen Warnock move

The Aston Villa-owned Nottingham Forest midfielder and the Derby County man wished the full-back well after he joined Wigan Athletic on loan.

Aston Villa-owned midfielder Gary Gardner, on loan at Nottingham Forest, had a positive message for Stephen Warnock after the Derby full-back completed a loan move to Wigan.

Indeed, the Nottingham Forest man wished his rivals' defender all the best ahead of a switch that will see him play League One football.

Meanwhile, Derby man Cyrus Christie also sent his best wishes to Warnock after news broke of his loan move to Wigan Athletic.

Warnock once played for Aston Villa, of course, following spells at Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers.

He then joined Leeds United, where he strung together several good performances but was loaned out to Derby as Charlie Taylor had come through at left-back in Yorkshire.

Leeds may now feel justified in letting the 34-year-old go, as Derby have deemed he will be better served in League One with Wigan right now.

Derby travel to London on Tuesday night, where they will face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
