Speaking to the Daily Mail, Frank McGarvey has predicted the game between Rangers and Celtic, claiming that the Bhoys will win a close encounter between the sides.
McGarvey said: “I’ve got to go for Celtic but it will be a very, very, very hard game. Rangers beat Dundee 4-0 and Celtic couldn’t score a goal against Dundee. But Celtic are the best team in the country, the leagues don’t lie. Celtic have a very strong squad. They’ve been together all season.”
It is not a surprise to see McGarvey predict that Celtic will win the game, seeing as he used to play for the Bhoys.
Still, his reasons for a Celtic victory are sound, as the Bhoys do top the Scottish Premiership table, with Rangers a league below.
However, this is not a fair reflection of the respective squad strengths, as many believe that this current Rangers team will be able to match the Celtic side.
Mark Warburton has built a side filled with energy, desire and technical brilliance, and that is more than can be said about Ronny Deila’s team at Parkhead.
A match between the two sides will be closely fought, and whilst Celtic certainly have the talent to defeat the Gers, they should not take the game lightly because of their higher league position.
