Steve McClaren is under serious pressure as Newcastle United manager.
The former England manager has come under severe pressure after Newcastle’s latest defeat to Bournemouth.
And Perez admits that he does not know where McClaren’s future lies, although he will continue to back the 54-year-old while he remains in charge at St. James’ Park.
"He is our manager, we have to be with him," Perez said.
"If something changes, I don't know what's going to happen - but right now we are with him because he is our manager."
Newcastle’s players released a statement saying that they were fully behind McClaren before their match against Bournemouth, but the side’s performance suggested otherwise.
Newcastle simply did not turn up and they played well below their potential throughout the contest.
The Magpies have now lost nine of their last 12 matches, and although they spent more money than any other club in January they have not shown much improvement.
Newcastle’s next match comes against top of the table Leicester City in a week’s time.
