Arsenal drew 2-2 in the North London derby this weekend.
Arsenal players had mixed emotions as they took to social networking site Twitter in the aftermath of their 2-2 draw with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
But a mad eight-minute spell in the second period, starting with a Francis Coquelin dismissal followed by two Tottenham goals, left the Gunners staring down the end of the barrel and in big trouble.
However, Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez combined for the latter to bring the 10 men of Arsenal level and keep their slim Premier League title hopes alive.
Taking to Twitter after the game, Mesut Ozil in particular was impressed with his side’s courage to come back while Spanish fullback Bellerin in contrast was left ruing what could have been.
Point is a point ! Great spirit to come back ! https://t.co/O1mTxDUzE1— Petr Cech (@PetrCech) March 5, 2016
Leicester City’s ensuing victory over Watford puts the Foxes eight points clear of Arsenal with just nine games remaining, a gap which cannot be made up if Leicester win seven of their remaining fixtures.
Arsenal know that their recent poor form has given them a mountain to climb, yet the belief is still there and Arsene Wenger’s men undoubtedly have the potential to go on a run.
Trips to West Ham United, Everton and Manchester City will be challenging, but Leicester managed to pick up nine points from that lot so it is definitely not beyond Arsenal to achieve a similar outcome.
