Tottenham round-up: Agreement in principle for Berahino; Pochettino in Chelsea link

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur fans will wake up this morning with mixed feelings after their 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

Spurs could have pulled six points clear of the Gunners if they had held on to a 2-1 lead at White Hart Lane, but at least the draw means the advantage is still with Mauricio Pochettino’s men heading into the final nine games of the campaign.

Speaking of Pochettino, the Sunday Times claims Chelsea have added the Argentine to their list of potential candidates to replace interim manager Guus Hiddink at the end of the campaign.

The report claims Pochettino is wary of the size of the job in leading the Blues back to the pinnacle of English football, but that talks with the manager’s representatives have been encouraging.

That said, with the Tottenham boss not having an agent it remains to be seen exactly which ‘representatives’ Chelsea have been talking to.

In other news, the Observer reports that Saido Berahino is finally set to complete a move from West Bromwich Albion to Tottenham this summer.

The England under-21 international has been the subject of a number of failed bids by the North London club. However it is now being reported that the Baggies have agreed in principle to allow Berahino to move to White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
