The Leeds head coach has been comparing the Yorkshire clubs.
Indeed, Evans sees loyalty in both but feels Leeds fans are simply greater in numbers.
The comparison also saw the 53-year-old admit his side have let their supporters down in certain games this season - although that fact remains an obvious one.
The Scot told the BBC: "The Leeds United supporters are the same as Rotherham United supporters for me just a lot less numbers.
"They work so hard they go into their jobs and save their money to support Leeds United. We know in the dressing room certain games we've let them down."
But, while Evans has good intentions here, Leeds fans may not like being compared to supporters of their local rivals...
Leeds is a huge club with a grand history and supporters may not take kindly to their loyalty being lightly compared to another Championship side's - especially Evans' old one.
Next up for the Whites is a trip to Cardiff City on Tuesday night. And Leeds travel to Rotherham on April 2nd, when they will be reunited with a former boss of their own in Neil Warnock.
