Former Leicester City midfielder Robbie Savage suggested on the BBC Radio 5 live 606 show on Saturday evening (March 5) that Newcastle United should sack Steve McClaren as their head coach.
The former Derby County player also stated that Newcastle should appoint either David Moyes or Nigel Pearson as McClaren’s replacement.
“For me, I have got to say with the big derby coming up, I would personally look to replace him," said Savage at the start of the BBC Radio 5 live 606 show on Saturday evening (March 5).
"I don’t like to see any manager getting the sack, but I would replace him. I would give Moyes until the end of the season."
“For a short term, an impact, Nigel Pearson would be perfect, I think," added the former Wales international later in the show.
Both Moyes and Pearson are available at the moment, but the question is: would they take the Newcastle job?
There is a very good chance that Newcastle will get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season irrespective of any managerial change now.
Although the Magpies have some good players, their performances this season have been severely disappointing.
Would Moyes or Pearson want to have 'relegation' on their managerial CV?
