Leeds United needed a win desperately and got it v Bolton.
It has been a tough week for Leeds United.
The Brighton debacle, finances released, Evans' future, Lewis Cook's 'release clause', Alex Mowatt's non-existent contract talks and Massimo Cellino protests have made it yet another frustrating period for Leeds United fans.
What they really needed was something to cheer about.
They got it. Whilst the performance at Elland Road against Bolton Wanderers yesterday was not vintage Leeds it was still a win.
Mirco Antenucci found his shooting boots and Leeds won the tie 2-1 - a much needed victory after a tough week off the pitch.
On the pitch things have been poor as well. Leeds had not won in their previous five games and this was an important win.
That sentiment was certainly echoed by one of the Leeds United players on Twitter after the game.
January signing Toumani Diagouraga sent this message to his followers yesterday evening to highlight his relief with picking up a win:
The former Brentford man is certainly stating what everyone is thinking about the result.
Of course this is simply a positive distraction from the negativity at the club.
The reality is times are still hard at Leeds United. But if results continue to be come in, at least there will be something to smile about.
