The England international continues to be a source of ridicule from Everton fans.
Everton once again threw away a winning position yesterday. The Toffees were 2-0 up with ten men against West Ham after goals from Romelu Lukaku and Aaron Lennon.
Lukaku then missed a penalty before West Ham's stunning comeback.
The majority of the blame for the result could easily be laid at the door of Kevin Mirallas. The Belgian picked up a moronic second yellow card in the early stages of the game to give Everton an uphill challenge for the rest of the game.
Of course Everton fans were also pretty miffed with the managerial decisions of Roberto Martinez - whose late substitutions confused many - especially taking off main outlet Lukaku.
But at half-time they were happy with one change - as regular Everton boo-boy John Stones got hauled off.
The England international has been out with a hamstring problem of late and prior to that absene had become an unpopular member of the Everton team after some bright performances.
Yesterday he struggled for much of the first-half and with Everton down to ten men Mo Besic took his place to bulk up the midfield.
Stones fall from grace with many of the Everton fans is quite shocking and it is clear to see on Twitter that many think he should be sold on this summer...
John stones is the new boo boy it seems. Sad sad state of affairs.— phil spiers (@philly_efc) March 6, 2016
@EvertonArentWe Besic for Barry because we had to, there was no reason for us to change everything to bring an out of form Stones back in— Jack Witter (@jwitter__efc) March 5, 2016
Martinez deserves everything he gets for turning down £40m+ for a player of Stones' ability #EFC— Dan (@DannyMac1982) March 5, 2016
Unless Stones was injured, taking him off at HT when you're a man down is a ridiculous decision from Martinez. #EFC— Shiven Nayager (@Shiven_n24) March 5, 2016
