Don Hutchison names two potential replacements for Steve McClaren

Steve McClaren

Newcastle United are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Former Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Newcastle United should sack Steve McClaren as their head coach.

Newcastle lost yet again in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, going down 3-1 to Bournemouth at home.

The performance of the Magpies at St. James’ Park was dire, and McClaren has come under even more pressure.

Hutchison has suggested on Twitter that Newcastle should get rid of the Englishman now.

The former Sunderland and West Ham United midfielder has also named two potential candidates as replacements for McClaren.

Brendan Rodgers and David Moyes are both good managers who know the Premier League inside out.

The question is whether either of them would be interested in taking the Newcastle job now with relegation looking quite likely.

Moreover, Rodgers and Moyes have already managed ‘bigger’ clubs, and they could see taking charge of a team who could play in the Championship next season as a step down in their respective careers.
