Danny Murphy said on BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday afternoon (13:37) that Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is a super player.
The former England international midfielder made the comments during the North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
"Danny Welbeck is a super player,” said the former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday afternoon (13:37). “He’s been criticised for a lack of goals in the past but he's been brilliant today.
"He looks fit, strong and he's led the line well for Arsenal. England manager Roy Hodgson will be the happiest man in this stadium, though. We all know how much he likes Welbeck."
Welbeck started for Arsenal against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon and played for 85 minutes, as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
During his time on the pitch, the England international striker took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 76%, created one chance, put in one cross, attempted four dribbles, won 75% of his tackles, and made one interception, one clearance and one block.
The former Manchester United striker has only just returned from a long-term injury, and he is playing quite well at the moment.
Arsenal are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 52 points from 29 matches, eight points behind leaders Leicester City.
The Gunners will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Championship side Hull City away from home at the KC Stadium in the FA Cup fifth-round replay.
